Get Snappyshot for Mac.

A native macOS app. Open the Xcode project, pick a signing team, and press Run. It lives in the menu bar — there is no dock window to manage.

Requirements

macOS 14 and Xcode.

This is a SwiftUI menu bar extra. You need a Mac, a signing team in Xcode, and permission to record the screen.

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later
  • Xcode with a development signing team
  • Screen Recording permission
  • Camera, Microphone, and Accessibility if you use those options

Pick a signing team

Select the Snappyshot target, choose your team under Signing & Capabilities, then press Run.

Allow capture permissions

Grant Screen Recording the first time you capture. Camera, Microphone, and Accessibility are optional depending on recording and overlay features.

Connect sharing if you want links

Settings › Sharing talks to S3, R2, B2, Spaces, MinIO, or a custom endpoint. Leave it off to share on the local network while Snappyshot is running.
